Refund & Cancellation Policy

This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains how refunds and changes to course or event registrations are handled for participants registering through Water Industry Training Specialists at https://www.backflowschool.com/. Please read this policy carefully before registering.
Water Industry Training Specialists partners with Water Industry Training Specialists, Inc. (“WITS”) for certain courses and events. The WITS refund policy, summarized and quoted below, governs the unused portion of tuition and follows the appropriate guidelines of the California Education Code and the Veteran’s Administration.
1. Standard Course / Event Refund Policy
The following policy applies to course/event participants unless a different written agreement is provided at the time of registration.
1.1 Cancellations at Least One Month Before Course/Event Start
The course/event participant has a right to a full refund of all charges (less the non-refundable administration fee* and any other disclosed non-refundable charges), provided that the participant cancels one month prior to the first day of the course/event date for which they are registered.
1.2 Cancellations After the One-Month Deadline
Cancellations made after the one-month deadline of the course/event start date will be submitted for review. If approved, the participant may be eligible to move their registration to the next available course/event date.
Please note: if a late change is approved, the participant will be charged a Late Change fee.
1.3 Once the Course/Event Has Begun
No refund or change will be permitted once a course/event has begun.
2. Refund Method and Processing Times
All refunds will be given back to the original payment method.
- Credit card refunds: Refunds issued by credit card will be made within 2 business days of approval.
- Check refunds: Refunds issued by check will be processed and mailed within 10 business days of approval.
Processing times after issuance may vary depending on your bank, card issuer, postal service, or other third-party factors.
3. Refund of Mandatory Course/Event Fees
Customers will also receive a refund of mandatory course/event fees under the following circumstances:
- The mandatory Tuition Fees were assessed or collected in error.
- WITS cancels or discontinues a course or program.
- WITS makes a delayed decision that the participant was not eligible to enroll in the class for which mandatory fees were assessed and collected, and the delayed decision was not due to incomplete or inaccurate information provided by the participant.
- The participant was activated for compulsory military service.
Any additional conditions or exceptions disclosed during registration or in course-specific materials will also apply.
4. How to Request a Refund or Change
If you need to cancel a registration, request a refund, or request a change to a course/event date, contact us as soon as possible so we can review your request under the policy above.

Any course- or program-specific refund terms disclosed during registration or in your enrollment documents will apply in addition to this policy and will control in the event of a conflict.
